Rudaw News presenter Hiwa Jamal was interviewing Ismail Namiq, Kurdish Gorran Movement member of parliament from Sulaymaniyah, when a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck near the Iraq-Iran border in northeastern Iraq.

Rudaw’s headquarters is in Erbil and Gorran Movement’s is in Sulaymaniyah, both in northeast Iraq. The men paused as the buildings they were in visibly shook.

The quake was felt as far away as Qatar. Rudaw reported that four people had been killed in Darbandikhan and that officials said many buildings had collapsed. Credit: Twitter/RudawEnglish via Storyful
