This week, GOP Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, an outspoken critic of Donald Trump, announced that he will soon hold a hearing on the president’s authority to launch a nuclear attack. In a statement, Corker said the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which he currently chairs, will talk about the “executive’s authority to use nuclear weapons and the process for executing that authority,” on November 14. According to the Senator, it will be the first time since 1976 that the committee “has looked specifically at the authority and process for using nuclear weapons."
