Queensland Police said one of their officers was “lucky to be alive” after a truck came dangerously close to the officer’s motorbike on Bruce Highway.
The officer was travelling southbound near Glenorchy, Queensland, when a heavy vehicle crossed the double lines while coming from the opposite direction, police said.
“The officer was forced to take evasive action to avoid a head-on collision with the vehicle before it swerved back onto the correct side of the road,” police said. The truck driver, 54, from Oakhurst was fined $2,500 and disqualified from driving for six months. Credit: Queensland Police Service via Storyful
