A man walked into a warehouse in Columbus, Ohio, posing as a temporary employee, before stealing a water heater by walking it out to his vehicle, according to footage posted by the Columbus Division of Police on November 3.

The incident happened on September 19, according to police, who were appealing for assistance from the public.

The man told an employee that he was a temporary worker, police said in a Facebook post. “The suspect was told to grab a broom until the manager arrived,” according to police.

After a few sweeps of the floor the man allegedly stole a 75-gallon hot water tank from the warehouse, using a hand truck to move the large box to his pick-up truck. Credit: Columbus Division of Police via Storyful
