Opposition leader Raila Odinga called for calm while addressing a crowd in Kawangware, an area in western Nairobi, Kenya, after attending a Sunday church service on October 29.
Odinga said: “A country cannot be ruled by the gun. Standing here in this church we want to condemn the militarization of politics in this country," Reuters reported.
Dozens of buildings were set on fire and one man was killed in Kawangware on October 27, the day after voting was held in an presidential election that Odinga had told his supporters to boycott.
Most of buildings burned belonged to members of the same tribe as President Uhuru Kenyatta, Reuters reported. Credit: NASA Coalition via Storyful
