Ashley Judd’s interview with ABC News, detailing the time she offered to have sex with Harvey Weinstein to avoid getting raped, it heart wrenching to say the least.
During the sit down Judd explained that she had not heard any stories of Harvey’s prior alleged misconduct before meeting him in his hotel room… so she had no warning when she went to the hotel and discovered he was not on the patio as she expected.
Judd went on to explain that Weinstein offered her a message and she fought him with a volley of no’s… which he ignored… or heard as a maybe.
Then he asked her to pick out his suit for the next day and she recalled cowering in a hallway for close to seven minutes with no way out. Finally she made a deal to sleep with him later, but not right then.
Judd said he kept coming at her with all this stuff and she just said that it will happen after she wins an Oscar in one of his movies. And then she fled.
A part of her is torn about her decision to say such a thing during the incident… but as she puts it – she’s of two minds: the part that shames herself for doing it, and the part that thought it was absolutely brilliant to get out of there.
Either way, it’s a heartbreaking story.
