TMZ founder Harvey Levin has called Mark Cuban “a triple threat in a presidential election.”
During an interview on the Fox Business Network, Levin gave the billionaire high marks on his viability as a candidate in 2020, saying, “I think Mark Cuban connects and fires on all cylinders with the common man and woman.”
“Mark Cuban understands people, and it’s one of the reasons he has been successful in multiple businesses," Levin added. "This guy dominated the computer business. He dominated sports. I mean he completely changed the NBA and understood fans the way no other owner did. So I gotta tell you, I think Mark Cuban is a triple threat in a presidential election.”
He made those comments after speaking with the Dallas Mavericks owner in an interview for the Fox News show “Objectified,” set to air Sunday.
In a preview clip, Cuban tells Levin, “I think we’re going into a time where you need somebody who can connect to people and relate to people, and I think I qualify on each of those. Now, whether or not I will do it, it’s a big decision.”
After calling himself “a concerned American citizen,” Cuban added, “I wouldn’t run unless I have solutions. If I have solutions, then I’ll have something to offer."
The entrepreneur and outspoken Trump critic has continued to fuel speculation about a potential bid for presidency in 2020.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, he told attendees of a recent business conference in Georgia, “It is something I’m seriously considering.”
And, during an appearance on CNN earlier this month, Cuban differentiated himself from Trump by saying he would release his tax returns and be more transparent about his business holdings.
However, he has also said there is a 90 percent chance he won’t become a candidate because, in his words, “my wife would divorce me. It’s more a family issue more than any other issue.”
