Lupita Nyong’o is the latest Hollywood star to speak out about Harvey Weinstein.
In an op-ed published by The New York Times, the 34 year old wrote that she first met the movie mogul in 2011 – and a friend cautiously advised him her to be careful around him because he can be a bully.
They met for lunch at a restaurant near his home and he tried to order her a drink… which she denied. Then they went to his house to watch a movie with his family, and about 15 minutes into the film, he led her to his bedroom and said he wanted to give her a massage.
She declined and decided to give one to him – so she could be in control. And midway through he said he wanted to take off his pants. She told him not to because it would make her extremely uncomfortable. He got up to strip down and she headed for the door.
A few months later they met for drinks, and he mentioned to her that he wanted to have the rest of their meal in a private room upstairs.
She declined and was told to not be so naïve – because if she wanted to be an actress, then she had to be willing to do certain things.
She left him there and hopes her story will help others speak out.
