Simulacrum Ep. 1 // Immersive Airsoft Sniper Gameplay (Barrett M82A1 .50 Cal)

2017-10-18 1

Tell me how you like this style of gameplay/narration below!

In a grim future, the Information Age has dissolved into an endless cycle of conflict. Corporations defend dying regimes with augmented cyborgs and an endless supply of federally supplied ammunition. In this world, when you want someone dead, a company is ready and willing to throw the full force of its assets at them… for a price. This series follows the exploits of cybernetically enhanced individuals as they battle through a strange world of simulated combat.

In this episode, Reach is deployed to assist a task force in the acquisition of some mysterious intel located in a village that is fiercely defended by proxy soldiers. Alongside his high-tech combat AI, Shell, he attacks his unsuspecting foes using stealth and his go-to weapon, “Betsy,” an M82A1 CQ.

M82A1 CQ "Betsy" specs:
362 FPS @ 120 PSI w/.30 BBs
Mancraft PDIK
Velocity Reducer
Madbull 6.03, 450mm
Prowin w/Flat Hop
Modified mid-cap mag
and some sexy OD Duracoat.

(Video coming soon on my build and the base gun itself!)

I’ll level with you, I’m pretty nervous posting this vid. There’s some stuff I should explain:

I’m currently studying Creative Writing and Game Design in hopes of one day working in entertainment. I wrote a book my senior year of high school that never got published, and I’ve been trying to find that creative “thing” to replace that ever since. I worry a lot that I’m too busy pursuing irrelevant studies at school, as a lot of my classes have nothing to do with writing fiction, or even media in general. So, I thought I might try and make something I’d be passionate about in my time off, but I wasn’t sure what.

Then, Bingo! I play airsoft, and while I don’t take it too seriously, the gameplay itself is pretty interesting to watch. So, I decided to combine my two passions of writing narratives and playing the game to create a kind of “real-life video game” sort of thing.

This was the original direction I wanted my channel to go in, but it wasn’t feasible without the right programs. Recently, I realized I had a decent understanding of the effects necessary to make the video I’d dreamt of a reality. I decided to go for it.

That said: this video isn’t intended to replicate any real life military or law enforcement operations. This gameplay was recorded with fake weapons in a controlled environment, and while the “kills” are all legitimate, they all took place under a strict set of safety rules between consenting players. I’m not in the military, nor am I a police officer. I definitely don’t claim to be even close to either of those things. I mostly sit around, play Titanfall 2 and eat Fritos with my dogs.

This footage is also heavily edited. While mostly shown in sequence, it is made to be as entertaining as possible, which means that I’ve cut out or sped up instances of me getting shot in the ass or sitting around in the woods.

Additionally: The main focus of my channel will still be dank ass review videos. If this video rolls over well, I’ll likely try to make more and invest in more cameras for better angles. I know, it’s got to be irritating not having a scope camera or barrel camera to get close-ups of the kills. While this vid is my little baby, I understand I need to nut up or shut up if I’m going to make more.

Thanks for watching!
