Simulacrum Ep. 2 // Airsoft P90 + Elite Force H8R Revolver

2017-10-18 8

A direct sequel to Episode 1, otherwise referred to as Operation Centerfire.

Cyborgs are the perfect operators. With artificial limbs, combat operating systems and emotional inhibitors, they are examples of unrequited precision and machine-like strength. However, these beings have a glaring weakness, a vulnerable backdoor. The Net, that which gives them their inhuman comprehension of simulated combat, also offers those skilled enough to bypass cerebral defenses the keys to the kingdom.

In this episode of Simulacrum, we watch through the eyes of Reach, a Corporate mercenary, as he and his team investigate a synthetic training facility on behalf of his employers. Shell, his military-grade onboard AI, manages to block a direct attempt to hack into his brain, which would otherwise give the hacker complete control over his systems. Unfortunately, the staff and security forces of the facility under investigation aren’t so lucky. In a last ditch effort, Reach and his task force carve a bloody path through the mindless cyborg slaves of the unseen hacker in hopes of extracting in time, all while their systems are slowly infiltrated by the very hack that has turned the men and women around them into gun-toting zombies.

What was responsible for the task force’s downfall? Could it have been the information extracted during Operation: Centerfire?

And how did Reach survive all of this?

Thanks for watching.

Edited using Adobe Premiere and iMovie.

I use Premiere for the special effects and iMovie for audio work. iMovie is a pretty easy drag-and-drop program that offers some light editing options as well as audio effects, which saves a lot of time when it comes to voice work.

NOTE: This gameplay has been heavily edited to omit lag-time in an attempt to make the footage more entertaining (i.e. respawns, deaths, game changes and the like are not shown intentionally). Simulacrum is intended for entertainment purposes only and does not reflect my actual behavior as a player, nor is it a realistic depiction of the gameplay I initially recorded.

If it helps, think of Simulacrum more as a film than airsoft gameplay.

NOTE: Simulacrum is in no way attempting to represent actual combat or any facet of the military or law enforcement. Callsign: Reach is not associated with any military or law enforcement organization whatsoever.
