On MLK Day 2017, Chris Taloa, an LA resident originally from Hawaii and former amateur bodyboarding champion, organized a protest to stand up to localism at the bay. Palos Verdes Estates Police had a significant presence, along with numerous local news agencies. It had to be one of the quietest protests ever, but a sizable turnout all things considered.
