As India gears up to celebrate popular festival Diwali, a huge blaze broke out at a fireworks market.

Crackers at a shop exploded after catching fire accidentally. The fire spread to adjoining shops engulfing the entire market and its explosive cargo in flames.

The sound of explosions and the heavy smoke arising from the fire could be seen from miles away.

News 18 reported that the incident occurred at the fireworks market in Wada town of Maharashtra.

While traders suffered a heavy financial loss, no one was injured in the incident as people in the vicinity managed to get away on time.

Officials in India ensure that shops selling fire-crackers are set up on empty plots of land away from residential or other commercial areas to minimise damage in case of mishap.
