We have seen a plethora of enthusiast grade hardware this year. From Intel’s Skylake X and Kabylake X to AMD’s Threadripper and Vega cards, hardware companies gave enthusiasts and prosumers lots of love this year.
Being a college student, I can’t afford any of the high end products aforementioned, so I did the next best thing...kinda. I researched products that mirrored the performance, price, and behavior of the enthusiast hardware AMD and Intel released the last six months (i9 7900X, RX Vega 56 & RX Vega 64, ThreadRipper series), and I landed on these two products I bought from eBay for $58 total: the Core 2 Extreme QX6850 and Radeon HD 2900XT.
