Don't mess with fans of "Rick and Morty."
That's what McDonald's learned after they tried to capitalize on a trend from fans of the popular animated show "Rick and Morty." After the show mentioned McDonald's discontinued Szechuan sauce, people demanded a return of the beloved condiment. McDonald's brought it back, but in limited quantities. In retrospect, that was their mistake.
The show's devoted fans stood in line for hours to get a taste of it, with some even pulling all-nighters. But supplies ran out quickly, leaving many fans disappointed — and angry. People fought with McDonald's employees, and some even jumped up and down on the counter.
Don't know if Morty would have liked that.
