Rainbows and Sunshine After Thunderstorms Move Across Melbourne

The Department of Health and Human Services warned of an increased risk of “thunderstorm asthma” on October 8 after a thunderstorm rolled through Melbourne and the surrounding regions.

Showers and lightning were spotted south near Geelong, and captured in a timelapse by local photographer Brendan Calwell, before a rainbow painted the skies above the coastal suburbs. The Herald Sun reported that the Victoria SES received 38 requests for help in a 24-hour-period after wild weather toppled down trees.
