\r
A big gaping void, an open-ended question – when people suddenly disappear from our lives it leaves us heartbroken and devastated. Some of them leave for mundane reasons like heartbreak or a simple misunderstanding – other times, they just disappear. \r
Now, people dont ordinarily vanish without a trace, but these next 5 people did. Despite efforts to find them and leads pursued, no trace has been found. And even today, the people in this list remain the Top 5 strangest missing person cases ever. \r
5 Maura Murray\r
On February 9, 2004, Maura Murray told her professors at The University of Massachusetts that theres been a death in her family and she had to go home. She packed her textbooks in her Saturn Sedan and took off. \r
Around 7 PM that night, Maura took a sharp turn and her car crashed on a snow bank. A bus driver, Butch Atwood, spotted the crash and asked Murray if she needed help, but she declined. She also asked him not to call 911 since she already dialed for help. He relented but offered her a ride to his house just within sight of the crash. She again said, no. So he drove away. He would call 911 anyway seeing the young woman needed help. \r
Minutes later, the police arrived. They would find the car locked. Windshield broken and airbags deployed but Maura Murray would not be there – she had disappeared into the night. \r
Where did Maura go? Was she abducted within just minutes after speaking with the bus driver? Did she run away? Was she afraid of getting into trouble with the cops and thought it was better to take off? \r
Police tried looking for clues but there were no visible footsteps in the snow that night. From then on, plenty of leads poured in but it also opened fs and questions that would baffle investigators and crime sleuths everywhere. \r
4. Tara Calico\r
Like Maura, Taras disappearance would be classified as strange, and also very disturbing. \r
On June 15th, 1989, A woman in Port St. Joe, Florida was heading out of a Junior Food Store when she found a poloroid picture turned face down on the asphalt of the parking lot. She picked it up to look at the picture and what she saw horrified her. \r
The image showed two people. A young woman and a boy, lying in a mess of crumpled, uncoordinated sheets – their mouths duck taped and their hands appeared to be tied up behind them. In their eyes, you can see utter resignation. Nothing else looks familiar in the picture except that it looks like the back of a van. The police were immediately notified. Roadblocks were set up but no one was able to secure the Toyota Cargo van that was once parked near the space where the photo was found. \r
----------\r
Almost a year earlier, On September 20, 1988 at 9:30 AM, 19-year old, Tara Calico went on her usual 34-mile bike ride in Belen, New Mexico. The plan was to go 17 miles along Highway 47, reach the railroad crossing, turn around and bike back. She was listening to one of her favorite bands, Boston on her Sony Walkman during the ride. \r
It would have been any normal day except this time around; Tara never made it back home. \r
Nine months later, the Polaroid photo was found and it sparked interest not just for its disturbing image but because the girl looked a lot like Tara. \r

3. Zach Ramsey\r
A missing person is horrible enough but its especially heartbreaking when the victim is a child. \r
Zachary Ramsey was only 10-years old when he was last seen on February 6, 1996. Zach, as he is known, was on his way to school at Whittier Elementary in Great Falls, Montana. This was a routine walk for him and he turned into an alley just six blocks from their apartment as he normally did. But this time, somewhere in that alleyway, Zach Ramsey disappeared. \r
Several people had seen Zach along the alleyway. One witness said he appeared to be waiting for someone while another reported seeing a four-door white car almost run him down. There was another witness who reported seeing an obese man following Zach, just a few feet behind him. \r
The man was supposedly Nathaniel Bar-Jonah. \r
Who is he? And what is his connection to Zachary? \r
Bar-Jonah was a knownoffender and had been charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping – targeting children, particularly \r
