Former British Olympic skier Graham Bell has set a new world record for the fastest towed speed on skis.
Bell reached an average top speed of just over 189 kilometres per hour as he was hauled along by a vehicle at an Arctic test centre in northern Sweden.
Despite the achievement he is still not the fastest man on skis though. That record – with the aid only of a slope and not a vehicle – belongs to Italian Ivan Origone, who reached 254 kilometres per hour downhill in 2016.
