They can vary in colour greatly, for instance they have been sighted as brown,black,grey and some times are reddish or olive green. Some of them also have striping and spotting on there scales, contrary to popular belief they do not have to be brown. The average length for an adult is around 1.1 - 1.8 meters some specimens have reached length of well over 2 m, generally they are a fairly slender snake. Size however is irrelavant a hatchling Eastern brown has the potential to kill just as much as a fully grown adult.
