Best friends Rebecka, Johanne and Kira return for a second series of this darkly funny crime drama – and life isn't getting any easier for the glamorous trio. Chief Inspector Lundgren dispatches hitman Mario to kill them all – the same Mario who assassinated Jesper – but Kira is pretty quick with a handy champagne bottle and as a result, the ladies have a dead body on their hands. Which now makes two that they have to deal with!
With both the police and a mystery man on their tail for murder they get themselves involved in a complex game of dangerous drugs and racketeers. However, the drug smuggling business turns out to be less profitable than the widows expected and they soon need a new plan to save their company. And so begins an action-packed plot that takes the widows from strip clubs, drugs labs and wellness centres, via an S&M club, a care home and hospital, in order to save their business and their own skin.
Bombs, bikers, and near-death experiences keep the edge-of-seat tension ratcheted up at high levels, while the cracking dialogue, wicked humour and extraordinary situations will make viewers laugh and have them firmly rooting for the widows. And with these three ladies, the wrong men are never far away; will they get out of this mess without broken hearts, yet with hearts still beating?
With its high production values, superior cast and gripping storyline, "Black Widows" is most definitely back in business with this fantastic second series.
