This is a quick video on the Red Star Arms fire control group (FCG) retainer plate. This replaces the super cheap bent wire Shepherds Crook. It is used to retain the happer and trigger axis pins. It secures in place by means of the safety selector bar. It takes ~30 seconds to install and cost ~$5. Highly recommend!\r

Similar to retainer plates used in the FAL and in some modern Russian Kalashnikovs, the RSA Hammer/Trigger pin retainer plate will work in nearly all Kalashnikovs. It can replace any style of retaining wire and will make installing, adjusting, tuning, or cleaning your trigger group a much easier job.
