Palestine today (September 27) joined Interpol as a member state, according to the organisation’s official Twitter.

The move was opposed by Israel, in a vote at the international police organisation’s general assembly in Bejing, the tweet said.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry declined to comment, saying earlier that Israel’s efforts to delay a vote until next year were unsuccessful.
The Soloman Islands were also announced to be joining the list of member states.
