An objective review of beados vs. pixos vs. aquabeads. We are not sponsored by any of these brands. \r
\r
This craft has become very popular due to the f that they are out of stock everywhere.\r
\r
Beados has become a craze because demand has far exceeded the supply. Unfortunately, distribution through moose is poor and supply will not reach small businesses until September. Until then, we decided to purchase a set of beados and some of its competitors to see if this was even worth getting onto our shelves.\r
\r
After reviewing all products, we have come to the conclusion that beados and pixos is exly the same. The beads are identical as are the trays/grids(they probably come from the same manufurers). Even the templates are interchangeable.\r
\r
Aquabeads also has the same type of grid, but it is larger and in the shape of a heart. All of the beads are compatible with each other and the only difference is that aquabeads take longer to dry than both beados and pixos (30 mins vs. 15 mins, respectively)\r
\r
Pixos and Beados is recommended for ages 4 and up vs. aquabeads which is 6 and up. I believe this craft should be ages 8 and up because of the amount of hand eye coordination required. \r
\r
All of the pens for each set are absolutely useless and I find that the best thing to use is your hands when placing the beads. \r
\r
Bottom line: we would recommend getting a tray with a basic set from any of the 3 brands(try to avoid pens if possible). And find some pixos beads because beados beads are sold out everywhere.
