What is splix.io ? \r
Splix.io is a massively multiplayer browser game created by Jesper van den Ende.[who?] Players close an area to fill it with their color, and have to watch out not to get hit by other players. The more the area the player collects, the higher up in the leaderboard they get. Splix.io is similar in concept to the web game Slither.io.[unreliable source?] Gameplay with a controller has been added August 2016 and allows the player to experience a better game when using their controller.\r

Gameplay : \r

In Splix.io you move around forming a trail through either gray empty blocks, or ones that have already been claimed by other people. After completing a trail by connecting your trail back to your base, you will take over all the squares enclosed in that section. If a player runs into your trail, you start over. Your area clears and the other player gets a kill.[2] The goal is to expand your territory as much as possible without dying. Youre always safe hanging out on your own territory.[5]\r

There is a map in the top left corner of the screen. Its kind of hard to make out exly whats going on, but it can be useful when figuring out what direction to go.[5] Its a good idea to check it once in a while.\r

The game features an in-game leaderboard which shows the 10 players with the most captured blocks. There are also seperate, daily and weekly global leaderboards with the top 50 players for blocks captured, time on #1, trail length, time alive and kills.[6] They can be found in the upper right hand corner of the login screen or on splix.io/leaderboards.[5]\r

Strategies:\r

After the game was launched, players have developed various strategies for Splix.io:[5][16]\r

Build squares, not rectangles\r
Squares should be big (20 × 20) in low-risk areas, 10 × 10 in high-risk areas\r
Use a pattern to organize your growing territory\r
Dont fight with other people\r
Go on when nobody is online and get everything\r
A super long n × 2 line, and then expand that 2\r
