A blast from a gas explosion in a Mexico City building was caught on camera in the hours following the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck central Mexico on September 19.
The earthquake led to the collapse of buildings in several parts of the capital, and gas leaks and fires were reported.
The explosion took place in Tuxpan, Roma Sur, Cuauhtémoc, México City. Javier Padilla shot the video from his apartment. Padilla told Storyful neighbours reported that the earthquake moved and damaged the gas pipes located on the rooftop of the building and that was likely what caused the explosion. There were 16 gas pipes in total, according to Padilla.
