First Lady Melania Trump spoke at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations luncheon Wednesday, delivering a speech that addressed the importance of watching over children and protecting them from the dangers of our time, reports ABC News.
She specifically mentioned bullying as one of those perils, sending Twitter in to a tizzy.
“Melania Trump talking about cyber bullying when her husband is the absolute worst offender is just Twilight Zone worthy...,” one person wrote.
“[Her] speech at the UN has to be a joke. HAS TO BE! She CANNOT be serious," another commented. "Melanie [sic], go home and give this speech to your HUSBAND!!!"
If all of this sounds familiar, it’s because this is not the first time the first lady has been criticized for taking up bullying as an issue.
In November, Melania said that as first lady she would work to combat social media harassment and bullying, bringing responses similar to those now being expressed, notes Politico.
