V&A voted Britain’s top museum as London rates best European city for culture
THE Victoria and Albert has topped a poll as Britain’s favourite museum. The best-rated venue worldwide is The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Tim Reeve, of the V&A, said: “We are honoured to receive the UK Museum of the Year award.” Other venues featured in the world's Top 10 were: The Art Institute of Chicago (4th), The National 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York (6th) and the National Museum of Anthropology (Museo Nacional de Antropologia) in Mexico City (7th). The V&A beat Paris’s famous Musee du Louvre (13th place) and Van Gogh Museum (17th place) in the European listings.Five London museums featured in Europe's Top 25 which meant the capital plays home to more top museums than any other European city including Berlin and Paris.. 00FastNews.
