Steve Bannon believes President Trump will win by a landside in 2020 and recently told Charlie Rose how that can come about.
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon believes President Trump will win by a landside in 2020 and recently told Charlie Rose how that can come about.
“President Trump...triggers the left. And they can’t handle it rationally. And as long as they can’t handle it rationally they’re not going to defeat him," Bannon stated during a CBS News' '60 Minutes' interview.
After Rose points out the president’s low approval numbers, Bannon continues, “I think he’s at 36 or 38 percent because we haven’t gotten the wall built, we haven’t...If you just go through and just do the Trump program that he laid out and just punch those things out, you’re going to do fine, you’re going to be at your 47 percent.”
However, some of Trump's supporters are skeptical if he can still fulfill his main campaign promises.
For instance, amid mixed signals from the White House last week on rescinding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, conservative commentator Ann Coulter mockingly said that Trump should change his slogan.
“Possible 2020 slogan: ‘I broke my promises, betrayed my friends & used my office to help my family, but, hey — at least I’m not Hillary!’” Coulter wrote in a tweet.
She has also slammed Trump lately over slow progress on the construction of the border wall with Mexico.
“Today’s BORDER WALL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Miles completed yesterday— Zero; Miles completed since Inauguration— Zero. NEXT UPDATE TOMORROW,” Coulter said on Wednesday.
