If the Americans have Beef Steak, we Filipinos have Bistek, and we fondly call it bistek tagalog. American steak dishes are big slabs of grilled meat while we enjoy ours in smaller and thinly sliced beef meat. We are not known to be heavy meat eaters. We usually eat matchbox sized meat with vegetables and lots of rice (yeah! thats the truth, isnt it?)\r
\r
The beef cut that is usually used is tenderloin, sirloin or top or bottom round. The meat is marinated in soy sauce and calamansi juice (a local lemon). After marinating it, it is pan fried for a short period of time. For garnishing, you could use caramelized onion rings and smother it with calamansi juice and the marinade.\r

This is a very simple and uncomplicated Beef Steak recipe that will make you ask for more.\r
