World number one Rafael Nadal was at his awe-inspiring best on Friday evening after beating Juan Martin del Potro to reach the US Open final.
The Spaniard crushed his Argentine opponent 4-6 6-0 6-3 6-2. Despite a first set wobble, Nadal soon found his stride, cruising to victory.
A two time US Open winner, Nadal will be seeking his 16th Grand Slam title on Sunday, against surprise victor Kevin Anderson.
The South African beat Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta in the earlier semi-final 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4.
Ranked 32 in the world, Anderson is the lowest-ranked man to reach a US Open singles final since the ranking system began in 1973.
