Presidents Trump’s Thursday tweet assuring DACA recipients they are safe from deportation over the coming 6 months was reportedly made at the request of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Presidents Trump’s Thursday tweet assuring recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that they are safe from deportation over the coming six months was reportedly made at the request of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
“Trump didn't get the language quite what she wanted, but a Dem aide confirms Pelosi called potus and asked him to tweet making clear that DREAMers won't be automatically subject to deportation during the six-month DACA wind down,” Maggie Haberman of the New York Times said in a series of tweets.
Haberman later clarified that the call was placed by Trump.
“For all of those (DACA) that are concerned about your status during the 6 month period, you have nothing to worry about - No action,” the president’s tweet said.
The comment is the latest in a string of softening statements on the matter.
Trump’s announced shuttering of the program comes with a 6-month window for Congress to act.
In a Tuesday meeting held hours after the announcement on DACA being "rescinded," Trump commented, “Well, I have a great heart for the folks we're talking about -- a great love for them…I have a love for these people, and hopefully now Congress will be able to help them and do it properly.”
That evening, he said via Twitter, “Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can't, I will revisit this issue!”
