CNN recently shared an image of one of those astounding life-saving missions which was initially posted by Harris County Sheriff's Office on Twitter. It shows a law enforcement officer carrying two children from a house partially under water.
The media outlet notes, “Deputy R. Johnson rescued these two kids Sunday from rising floodwaters in the Houston area.”
The tweet has brought many responses from those simultaneously horrified and heart-warmed by the city’s tragic circumstances and how committed officials, rescue workers, and citizens have been to aiding those in need.
One user wrote, “I love seeing humans helping other humans, but it's sad it's under these circumstances,” while another commented, “God bless this deputy! This is how a true human being and American behaves.”
