The impressive National Festival of Malaga, also known as the Feria de Agosto, is the most important folk festival of the Spain’s Costa del Sol, gathering people from countless countries, from the region, young and old alike. Everyone is looking forward to having the time of their lives in the third week of August.

Take a look at the specifics and the most important tips to get the best out of the Feria de Málaga! On the site of the former estate of Torres is located today's fairground El Real, where besides a series of events also competitions, performances and concerts take place.

The Málaga People's Festival in August 2017. Today, the Feria de Málaga is one of the most internationally known and largest events in Andalusia. The festival begins every year in the night from Friday to Saturday exactly at midnight with the welcome by the mayor of Málaga. Then follows the Pregón, a declaration of love to the city, which is always held by a celebrity. In 2000 Antonio Banderas was born, who was also born in Málaga.

Afterwards, a gigantic fireworks illuminates the sky over Málaga, while the locals break into music as well as flamenco dances.

Saturday starts around 11 am with a two-hour procession, which starts at the town hall.

Feria del Día
During the Feria de Málaga numerous competitions and events take place, for example concerts in the city center of Málaga at the Plaza de la Marina or Plaza de la Constitución.

The feria still includes bullfights in the La Malagueta arena.

Feria de la Noche
In the evening you will meet on the Recinto Ferial, the city's large fortress. This is located just outside, in the west of Malaga. By bus, you can also go back and forth during the night.

On the Recinto Ferial you will find famous fairground attractions such as roller coasters and carousels. There are about 150 casetas, small stalls where there is food and drinking. These are operated by clubs (Peñas) or clubs and restaurants of the city.
