Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner are being touted as key figures in Steve Bannon’s recent departure from the White House.
People is reporting that an inside source told the magazine, “Jared and Ivanka helped push him out. Bannon being removed changes everything.”
The unnamed person added that the former chief strategist’s ouster was “done to help salvage the Presidency...two to three weeks, in my opinion, to salvage things, or it’s over.”
There has also been speculation that the couple’s faith may have played a role, with the Daily Mail quoting a source as saying, “They were concerned about how they were being viewed by the Jewish community.”
Bannon has been blamed by some for influencing President Trump’s controversial comment attributing the violence at a Charlottesville rally of white nationalists to “many sides.”
The rabbi who helped Ivanka convert to Judaism sent out a joint letter with two other rabbis, stating, “We are appalled by this resurgence of bigotry and anti-Semitism, and the renewed vigor of the neo-Nazis, KKK and alt-right. While we always avoid politics, we are deeply troubled by the moral equivalency and equivocation President Trump has offered in his response to this act of violence.”
Nevertheless, President Trump has called Bannon a “good person” and “not a racist.”
And shortly after Bannon's ouster from the White House and return to Breitbart News, Trump tweeted, “Steve Bannon will be a tough and smart new voice at @BreitbartNews...maybe even better than ever before. Fake News needs the competition!”
