LONDON, UK — Hollywood movie star and heartthrob Tom Cruise suffered an on-set injury when he slammed into a wall while filming a stunt for upcoming Mission Impossible 6 Sunday morning.
Known for doing his own stunts, the 55-year-old action star has gone on plenty of breathtaking on-screen runs over the years. From movies like the Mission Impossible films, The Firm, Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky, War of the Worlds and many more.
In a clip published by TMZ, Cruise, attached to a pulley system, was shown running then making an unsuccessful leap from one building to another. Cruise fell short and smashed into the building before falling off to the side.
Cruise appeared to stumble while trying to complete the stunt, and was eventually carried by the set's pulley system onto a separate platform, where he was assisted by the film crew.
Although the extent of Cruise's injuries remains unknown, he is hopefully well enough to continue running for years to come. The incident also hopefully will not impact the release date of Mission Impossible 6, which is set to hit cinemas on July 27 of next year.
