A holster has traditionally been designed for one mode of carrying, like an IWB holster, but the ShapeShift modular gun holster has multiple carry methods in one system.
This is a visual guide on how to easily configure and switch between different carry styles — a digital user manual, if you will.
The ShapeShift can transition between carry styles because of the low-profile, universal shell, which is made with injection-molded polymer to fit the make and model of select handguns.
The starter kit includes an IWB, appendix, OWB belt slide and OWB paddle holster. The Shift Shell can be transplanted from one of these holsters to the next, in either the half shell or full shell configuration depending on the holster type.
The half shell configuration is for the IWB, AIWB and OWB belt slide holsters. The full shell configuration is for the OWB paddle holster and the holster mount.
The ShapeShift parts chart, included in the packaging, will be a useful tool to reference while customizing and configuring your holster. Retention, cant and ride height are also adjustable to personal preference. An adjustable retention unit can control the passive retention on all holsters, with some being compatible with an active retention release.
The ShapeShift holster is the product of two years of research and development, and there will be more carry systems unveiled in the upcoming months.
