At least five people were killed in strikes on the opposition-held town of Kafr Batna in east Damascus province on August 9, according to local reports.

Pro-opposition media blamed the Syrian government for the strikes, as the Syrian Army and its allies attempted to advance into areas east of Damascus.

Pro-government media said the strikes hit “terrorist” positions in Kafr Batna and the nearby town of Hazeh.
