NYPD Seeks Bicycle Bandit Who Robs Cabs

New York City police are seeking a man who robs taxis as he rides by on a bicycle. The NYPD released video of the bicycle bandit on Tuesday, August 8, seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Police say the man is suspected in seven different robberies dating back to June 28 in Manhattan. The suspect in each case approaches a cab as it’s stopped, reaches inside and takes money from the driver. He then rides off on his bicycle. The amount of cash he’s stolen ranges from $7 in a July 31 incident to $200 on July 27. He hit two cabs on July 27.

Police described the suspect as a black man, standing between 5 foot 10 inches to 6 feet and weighting 200 pounds.
