Protesters gathered near the Israeli embassy in Amman on August 4, calling for it to be shut down in the wake of an incident in which two Jordanians were shot dead.

The protesters also called for a gas deal with Israel to be cancelled, according to local reports.

Two Jordanians died as a result of a July 23 incident at the Israeli embassy and an Israeli security official was injured. That employee was returned to Israel with other embassy staff on July 24. Jordanian authorities were seeking to question the official, according to reports.
