PERU Two drug mule Michaella McCollum has been spotted on the beach in Mallorca once again as she soaks up the rays ahead of a rumoured appearance on Celebrity Big Brother (CBB).
The holiday comes amid rumours that Miss McCollum and her partner in crime, Melissa Reid, could be set to appear in the new series of CBB, which begins next month.A source revealed to The Sun: “Michaella has made no secret of her dream to become a reality TV star.“It’s all part of her bid to get her name out there in the lead up to returning to our screens – this time on an entertainment show, not BBC news.“Her accomplice Melissa is less excited by the whole showbiz world but, because of the pairs theme, producers think they would be the ideal signing." Miss Reid, 23, was spotted leaving her new office in Glasgow earlier this month after recently getting a job at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.The Scot was almost unrecognisable from the girl whose face was plastered over the newspapers after she and Miss McCollum were arrested at Jorge Chavez International airport in Lima, Peru, in August 2013.Miss Reid and Miss McCollum, who became known as the Peru Two, were apprehended by police after being caught trying to smuggle a huge quantity of cocaine out of the country. At the time of their arrests, Miss McCollum was as a part-time model and a nightclub hostess in Ibiza while her partner-in-crime was a sales assistant back in her home country.They faced the prospect of a maximum 15-year prison term but struck a behind-closed-doors plea bargain to secure the shorter sentence. When they appeared in court they pleaded guilty to drug smuggling and in December 2013 were sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.Miss McCollum was released in March 2016 while Miss Reid returned to the UK in June last year.. 00FastNews.
