Twenty-one-year-old Somros ‘Rose’ Polcharoen is making a name for herself in the Muay Thai ring.Polchaoreon has earned the respect of her male opponents after winning two matches in a row at the Rajadamnern Stadium, a prestigious Bangkok arena. She’s also the first transgender boxer to fight there.
Rose started boxing when she was eight, and now trains other young boxers. Her appearance shocked opponents when she started, and some even cancelled their fights. She’s now an inspiration to other transgender fighters.Polcharoen’s message to others is strong and simple: “Being a transgender, it doesn’t mean that we’re weak.
