While I'm not going to chronicle every single moment of gameplay, this is the gist of how SWG works; fetch quests. I chose a commando as my class for a few reasons; 1). It's the most stormtroopery class in the game, 2). AoE attacks are unsurpassed for leveling and kill speed. The max level you can obtain on this space station is 10 (from there you move on to the actual game), so a neat trick is to NOT collect any of the rewards (or press "complete" for any of the quests you do here; wait until you are on Tatooine, go into your journal and complete them all, and you'll have a few extra levels under your belt.
