An Australian woman was shot dead by police in Minneapolis Saturday after she reportedly called 911 herself. The Star Tribune identified the woman as Justine Damond, 40, from Sydney.
Damond called 911 after hearing noises near her home. Ms Damond approached the driver’s side door and spoke to the driver. The officer in the passenger seat then shot Damond through the driver’s side door. Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges said the incident The officers were wearing body cameras but they were not turned on during the incident, the mayor said. The BCA said its investigation into Justine’s death is in its very early stages.
