A car bomb detonated outside a hospital in the opposition-controlled city of Idlib on Sunday, July 16, wounding at least five civilians, according to local activist media reports. No one has claimed responsibility for at the time of writing.

There has been a notable tension between Ahrar al-Sham and Tahrir al-Sham, the former al-Qaeda affiliate, in recent weeks. However, a recently penned agreement to swap prisoners and increase governance sharing in the province, as well as jointly fighting Islamic State sleeper cells, is expected by local analysts to lead to more unification in the short-term.
