New Land Route to Raqqa Allows Aid to Reach Displaced People, UN Says

The United Nations World Food Programme said on July 12 it used a newly opened land route to Raqqa to deliver food to people displaced by fighting there.

Supplies were delivered near Mansoura and other rural areas north of Raqqa city for the first time in three years, the agency said. The new access would allow the aid program to “expand its regular food deliveries to Raqqa,” the organization said.
