Except J & K, the GST was implemented on July 1 in the whole country. Now the Jammu and Kashmir assembly passed a special session regarding the implementation of the goods and services tax in the state. This proposal was passed between opposition parties. Meanwhile, Independent legislator Sheikh Abdul Rashid, who was trying to march towards the state assembly in protest against the implementation of GST, was taken into custody along with several of his supporters.
जम्मू कश्मीर को छोड़कर पूरे देश में जीएसटी को 1 जुलाई को लागू कर दिया गया था। अब जम्मू कश्मीर विधानसभा ने विशेष सत्र में राज्य के अन्दर वस्तु एवं सेवा कर को लागू करने से संबंधित प्रस्ताव पारित हो गया। यह प्रस्ताव विपक्षी पार्टियों के विरोध के बीच पारित किया गया। वहीं इस दौरान जीएसटी लागू करने के विरोध में राज्य विधानसभा की ओर मार्च करने की कोशिश कर रहे निर्दलीय विधायक शेख अब्दुल राशिद को उनके कई समर्थकों के साथ हिरासत में ले लिया गया। प्रदर्शनकारियों का कहना है कि नई कर व्यवस्था लागू करने से राज्य का विशेष दर्जा और इसकी आर्थिक स्वायत्ता खत्म हो जाएगी।
