Pro-opposition media activists reported artillery strikes by Turkish forces on a position held by Kurdish YPG fighters in northern Aleppo on Monday evening, July 3.

Images of fires lighting up the night were circulated on social media, described as showing Mount Bersaya, near the northern Aleppo town of Azaz, close to the Turkish border.

SMART news agency, which has a network of reporters across Syria, reported on the shelling on its website before sharing this footage. It tallies with other videos circulated on social media, described as showing a fire resulting from shelling of Kurdish fighters.
