Emergency efforts continued on June 26 to contain the fire destroying parts of Spain’s Donana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Local media reported that the fire began on Sunday, June 25, in an area known as La Penuela de Moguer, and continued to spread through June 26. The video shows a helicopter gathering water to fight the blaze.

Spain’s Interior Minister tweeted on June 26 that efforts to put out the fire were “paying off.”

According to its website, Donana is considered one of the most important protected natural areas of Europe and is home to many endangered species, including the Spanish imperial eagle and Iberian lynx. Credit: YouTube/Fran Vizu via Storyful
