Michigan residents woke up to severe flooding on Friday, June 23, after heavy rain overnight. A number of roads, including main highways, were shut down because of the flooding.
At least one town was hit with six inches of rain since Thursday night, according to a news report. The flooding heavily affected some roadways, and cars were under water. Flood warnings were in effect.
This video shows the flooding near a school in Shepherd. Uploader Holle Jean Angellotti says in the video she joked with her coworkers she could kayak in the flood at the school near her house. When she tried, she found there was two feet of water around the school for her to navigate in the kayak. Credit: Facebook/Holle Jean Angellotti via Storyful
