Grenfell Tower, the London apartment building where at least 79 people died in a fire earlier this month, has become an unlikely tourist destination for those hoping to take selfies with the building’s remains. So-called “disaster tourists” have been taking selfies with the rubble using the #GrenfellTower hashtag on Instagram, causing outrage to many of the apartment’s former residents. Signs have been posted urging people to stop posing with the building, reminding tourists that not only are people still grieving, but the remains of the casualties are still in the building.
