Underground Steam Explosion Injures Several in Baltimore

An underground steam pipe exploded near Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland, on Tuesday, June 20.

Police told WBAL the calls for the explosion came in at around 6:15 pm Tuesday on Eutaw Street between West Lombard and Platt streets, near the baseball stadium. Two people were initially treated at the scene for injuries, but by 7:30 pm three more injuries were reported, according to WBAL.

Mayor Catherine Pugh told WBAL a catastrophe was dodged becase the Baltimore Orioles were playing at the stadium on Tuesday, therefore parking was restricted in the neighborhood. Credit: Instagram/emyouallreadyno via Storyful
